Pittsburgh get together -- roll call

    Great news!

I was awarded off on March 7th; it's a go! So just post in before the 5th if you will be coming and what you will be bringing. I will keep a running tally. As far as sources, amp, etc go, I only have a modest Denon system. So any preamps, amps, analog and digital sources are much appreciated!

Show starts at the usual 11:00AM until ???. Standard revolving door policy. Food and drinks will be here. If you want to bring any deserts have at it!

    1) me -- Zaph L18's, Noobsters MTM?, living room
    2) Dougie -- Dynamic 4T, Evotiva RPA-2, fajitas
    3) John -- turntable
    4) Dan -- Cambridge Audio 840c, homemade wine, B&W 602's
    5) Bob -- beer, Dougie lol
    6) Michael -- raw drivers to check out

    -------------------
    edit:

Alright. I am surprised at the interest actually. If you definitely plan on coming and not on the fence just chime in here and ask to be added to the list! (Yes, a bouncer and velvet rope will be outside :B j/k) The meet will be at my home in Wexford just off of I-79. I will PM everybody my address the closer it gets.

Anything audio you bring is welcomed. Even if it is commercial speakers or quality headhpones we can still listen to them to contrast/compare. Of course, all DIY items are eagerly awaited to be auditioned and enjoyed.

We planned on having decent munchies through out the day with no set eating time. If you wish to bring your favorite Steeler game style food or your favorite audio auditioning beverage I will not argue. The more variety the better! But please do not feel obligated since we will have stuff here anyway.

Just let me know what you are bringing so I can tally everything. I will be rearranging our proposed listening area and need an idea of space requirements that's all.

Well obviously my 4T's I also should have either an RPA-2 or XPA-2.....I'm getting ready to order one but I cannot decide. I may be able to bring my DAC possible. I'll have to rig up a case for it or something.

Yeah it's been that way a while. The RPA-2 is at an introductory price right now and will eventually be more as well. I think they are both normal priced at 799. But regardless 5 dollars difference wasn't enough to make up my mind haha.

You can bring some LP's Bill I think John is going to bring his new Clearaudio with 800 dollar cart (Neurocia or something or other) and probably his Bellari phono pre. Depending on if Bob is going or not will depend if my speakers make it. He's pretty much my only form of moving them.

Ha ha, bill we can bring the RB-1090!

I can bring whatever anyone wants, if they want the CA 840c over there that can be brought.

I can also bring some home-made wine that I keep promising Bill I'll bring and never remember to.

Can wait to get to a listening party again... it's been too long since I've sat and listened to anything.

                So definitely count me in!

Same here Dan. I haven't really sat and listened since I sold the XPA-3. I have another chip amp in the system currently but my DAC is setup for balanced connections and the chipamp is SE. So I haven't really enjoyed music much because I can't use my DAC. So I can't wait till wed/thurs to get the RPA-2 :B

Home made wine huh? I'd give a try. I'm not much of a wine drinker I tried a few at Bills last time though which was I guess a year ago?

I think I'll bring my RPA-2 the DAC and possibly speakers although not sure yet if Bob has anything going on so not sure how that will work out?

I have some other DIY projects that may be done by then but not sure if it's something I'd bring :B One of which is an electronic drum set that I've been building.

Wow. I 'm not the only one from Pittsburgh here.

I 'm building the Natangs on the DIY forum. I 'm live near Pittsburgh currently, 10 minute drive.

                                I have a dilemma then.

Starting with I'm not sure where to go...

And as far as I am aware I have nothing worthy to bring as of yet
Unless one of you want to buy some unopened Cherry JBL Northridge E50's or a EC35?

I could bring food...that's something I have plenty of.

Unfortunately the Natangs will most likely not be finished till sometime in June.

I'm sure he'll be sending out details on the location before the 7th.

I also live in the burgh area(about 45 mins from the city). The only thing I could bring is maybe my emo xpa-5, but that is no match for the rpa-2 in sound quality...lol. Plus, my klipsch are WAY TOO HEAVY and I do not own a truck to move those beasts. Lmk the details(I may or may not be able to make a how).

I will bring my pre-amp and some of Doug’s (proprietor of CatCables and owner / overseer of our HTG Forum) SilverCat and KingCat I/C’s.

The Carver C-19 pre will make life easier since it has an internal phono-pre that will handle both MM & MC cartridges. Besides, it will give me an excuse to try and get the new tubes before the meet for it that I have been wanting to purchase.

Michael do you have an HDTV? I may possibly bring my HTPC to show off. I'm sure some are not to sure what it is exactly or what they can do. Also it has all my music on it.

I'll have to see if Bill will let me have MY RB-1090 since he's had it for a few months... Course I was over last night and he said I should really purchase one of these amps because HIS is a beast. :E

Course I told him that it would sound better if it was all in black instead of silver. :

Bill, You'll have to disconnect MY RB-1090 from your system if you/me are going to bring it. I'll do the heavy lifting if you want. If not, no big deal.

I'll also grab my set of 602s that are still in the box from the move and the stands for them. Bill was pretty impressed with them.

If you have an RB 1090, that's great, but I sure don't have it. :B

He'll still bring a TT just not sure which one and in what configuration. At this point pretty sure the Virtuoso cart won't be attending unfortunately.
