    Post of B&W Pictures

These are some of the photos I took at the B&W factory in England.

In the middle photo they are finishing the cabinets of some Nautilus speakers.

Great shots - it's interesting to see how they are actually made.

Do you get any free samples during the tour?

BTW - what happened to the guy's face in the last picture?

Dang... that's a nice factory! I've seen other speaker factories and it aint that nice and laid out. White Nautilus... now I've seen everything.

Oh.. did they mention whether the Nautilus have been updtated to use Diamond tweeters?

Unfortunately there are no free samples. It is very interesting how they are made. Not only do they manufacturer just about everything in house these guys actually magnetize their own magnets. I have some more photos to scan when I do I will post them.

They are not putting the diamond tweeter in the Nautilus.

What is that white speaker that looks like a front loading washing machine?

I forgot what the model it is but it is one of B&W's early speakers & the first (I think) to have a separate tweeter housing on top of the cabinet. The tweeter is electrostatic with small square flat panels in a curved array.

To answer wb2fcr I blackened there faces, I did not know if they would mind me posting their photo.

Stupid question maybe but how do you get to go on a tour? Is anyone allowed or will I get an invite when my speakers arrive?

I do beleive that this is the B&W DM70.

It had a regular woofer in the bottom cabinet, but the top houses an electrostatic unit.

I had a pair, but in a wood finish many many years ago in the U.K.

Great sounding combination - and always wondred why B&W didn't continue with the electrostatic theme.

that first speaker, the silver signature is still a highly regarded speaker to my understanding.
I'm just sittin here watchin the wheels go round and round...
